does the main drive belt and the deck belt interchang on a 42 inch deck craftsman, riding mower mode 917.270732 cause i have two drive belts and my deck belt is slipping like no other

The belts are dimensionally the same. They are both 1/2" wide
and 95-1/2" long. There are some material differences. The deck belt may slip when used as a drive belt. You can try it.
Worst it will do is burn up the belt.
