Veritas R8 alarm- zones 'in fault'?

Hi, I have moved into a house with a Veritas alarm (from their website it seems to be an R8 or R8 Plus- more probably R8 as there seems to be different User options).

I played around and discovered the code was still on factory default, 4321, but I've changed that now.

There are 4 zones set (zone 1 is front door, and 3 others), but when attempting a walk-through the red LED lights for zones 2, 3 and 4 on the key pad are illuminated, and it beeps 4 times (as 4 is the highest zone), and that's all before I've even moved an inch.

Having downloaded and read the instruction manual I understand these zones might be 'in fault', so I was just wondering if anyone could advise me how to go about fixing it.

Thank you!

The complete system has just packed up. The power failure led is not showing or nor any other key buttons...

Can this be the battery or the main power supply cable from the fuse box to the keypad...

Any Suggestions before i call out an alarm engineer ???

I'll try a walkthrough test tomorrow and let you know how that goes.

Hi again Death- I went ahead and changed the fuse and now it seems to have started working, I think! Should the red lights on the sensors come on if there is movement near them?

Hi Death- thanks for your reply. the fuse for that part of the board looks to be in tact. What should I try next?! (and also, how can I safely change the fuse anyway?)

hii kate

the veritas r8 are good alarms but it looks like you may have blown a fuse soon as you have a r8 you will need to look for your big panel with 1 led on it green or red open the panel (the alarm will sound enter your code and press reset look for aux/speaker seems before you moved into your house somebody wanted to play around with alarm before they went well when you have found aux/speaker take the glass fuse out and see if it has gone it is possible to see if it has gone if it has in the panel they are normally spare fuses if there is one replace with one if not move the battery and see if theres any behind that if there is cracking and see if it works replace the lid and the tamper light willl go off

Let me know how it goes
