On the base unit press page for 10 seconds until tones are emmited the in use light will blink. On the handset you want to register press options and then scroll down until register is displayed press options to register the handset you will then be asked for the base PIN number type in 0000 (default) two tones emit from the handset and it will show HS2 if its the second handset.
