i can receive calls but not able to make them?

bt xd 1500 after a weeks holiday ive returned to find that my phone can receive calls but im unable to make them . any advice gladly received

This is a feature to stop kids etc playing with the phone whilst your back is turned.
It seems whilst your back has been turned someone has activated it. (locked)
Go into the menu and and unlock it, assuming you know the code number
