where is the lid switch located on the fisher paykel smart drive 703 ?

The lid reed switch is found under the right hand edge of the top deck after raising the deck up off the metal cabinet. You can check it easily by closing the lid and press start. If machine starts filling & drum rotates then the lid switch is working. Double check by opening the lid & machine will stop then it will restart when you close the lid. Do not cut the wires to the switch as previous poster suggested. If you do the machine will not stop when lid is lifted. Very dangerous on fast spin especially if you have small kids. Also, these two wires carry 230 volts electricity. If you short them out then your control panel will blow and be history. If lid switch is faulty then buy a new one and replace it.

Lincoln Appliance NZ, April 2010
The lid switch is a magnetic reed switch located on the right hand side under the hob. There is a magnet moulded into the lid that operates the reed switch when the two are in close proximity ( lid closed). If you suspect that it is faulty, join the 2 wires together running from the reed switch to the computer.
