how to get the filter off a zanussi aquacycle 1100?

i have tried to turn the cap without success.how do i remove it?

turn the cap anti clock and pull.if you haven't had it out for an age you will need to prise the filter out and sometimes end up breaking it.Should be checked monthly to stop it getting wedged in the housing!
