Found large rubber band in bottom rack?

Where does the large rubber band go on my Kenmore 15595 dishwasher?

Don't have an answer, but we also found a large green rubber band in the bottom of our Kenmore washer after emptying a load of dishes. I wish I knew what it was as well...so if anyone has an answer, I sure would apprecate it.
