Lervia KH4000 Bobbin won't wind?

I have a Lervia KH4000 Sewing Machine it was given to me - works fine but the bobbin won't wind up - I've followed all instructions, threaded machine correctly and attempted to fill a new bobbin (this bobbin is from my own machine and fills perfectly on there) set up as instructed but nothing the mechanism seems to move ok inside but not turning spindle. One thing I have noticed though is the person that gave the machine to me seems to have OVERDONE the oiling!!! could this be the problem? I'm looking to pass this machine onto someone else as apart from this problem it's practically perfect. Hope someone can help.

drivewithken - Thanks for your reply and advice, the machine does appear to be oiled all over even around the bobbin spindle area (quite unnecessary I know)I'll take it apart and see if I can identify the problem as advised:-) and whilst I'm at it I'll give it a GOOD wiping with kitchen towel.
Thank again.drivewithken

Hello Karen,
If the top of the machine has been oiled then there may be oil on the winder rubber, if it has not been oiled then either the winder may have seized up if it can't be turned by hand or part of the winder rubber may be worn down so it does not catch on the balance wheel, in any case the machikne will have to be taken apart to get to it.
