how do I remove the seat of my Bisonbede stairlift to gain access to the seat locking plate underneath.I can not find any clips bolts to retain it yet it will not lift straight out.Bisonbede are not co-operative

I have a 2002 model of the compact. On this model the seat will just lift up. It is fairly weighty and there is a need to have some supports nearby to rest the detached seat on unless you disconnect the wiring harness first. What may be giving extra resistance to removal is the locking pin riding on the locking plate.
