my key wont lock the central locking.i think the battery may be dead and cant lock the door

Depends upon the make of car however

Many remotes have a old style key within the remote and you can lock the car using the key. Lock barrel is in or near the door handle or behind a small plastic cover in the door handle.

Get battery in remote checked/replaced
