My Car Hi-Fi will not switch on?

I have a 1998 Jeep grand cherokee and after changing the battery, the hi-fi would not swith on. It would simply say "wait" and never advance.

I also dont have the code for the Hi-Fi.

How can I get the code and how can I advance from here?
