lost wireless connection - Toshiba laptop?

My internet wireless conection has been lost on my toshiba laptop. It has been working fine for 2 weeks and now has been lost. There is a red cross on the signal bar in bottom left hand corner. It will not let you do anything. I have contacted Orange our provider and this seems to be fine as when you connect the cable to the wireless netgear, router and laptop it works fine.

This is often caused by two or more neighbours trying to use the same WiFi Channel.

You need to run a free utility called inSSIDer to find out what channels are in use locally. Having done that, reset the WiFi channel on your router to a channel that is not in use and at least two channels way from any that are.

Navigate to Network Connections

You will see a Wireless Icon with a red cross through it.

Right click on the Icon and select View Available Wireless Networks - you may see several - yours will probably be the strongest signal - connect to it.

Good luck...
