how can i fix my scantronic 9448+?

i have an intermittent fault on the tamper circuit, a local engineer has checked the system but was unable to find the problem.can the tamper circuit be disconnected but still allow the system to work as normal.
this is a 4 zone domestic system

Yes, but next time get someone who knows alarms.
If your "engineer" cannot fault find a simple panel then god knows what he is like on the big stuff.
