how to fix my key fob?

my vauxhall vecrta key fob has stopped working and if i unlock my car using the key the alarm will go of i have changed the battery in the key fob and tried putting key in ignition and reseting it and no succes please help need answeres

Put key in ignition turn it to the first position where the lights come on then close and open the central locking 15 times. This worked for me
