How can I fix my Zanussi Jetcycle 1200?

The power light is on but the washing cycle program buttons don't work. Could the motherboard be damaged?

It could well be the main pcb at fault BUT remember that a component attached to the main board may of blown it so if you fit another main board it will blow it up too!!!!
