Baxi Bermuda 57/4 no heating nor hot water?

We have a Baxi Bermuda 57/4, it was working but now we do not have any heating and no hot water, called out gas engineer who said he cannot find the 3-way diverter so it must be the gas valve that has failed, which means we have to have a new boiler ?? Can anyone offer any advice, please. I will get another gas engineer to call out but it would be good to get some feedback on here if possible.

Why do you have to have a new boiler just because the gas valve has failed?

Some feedback,
What has the 3way diverter to do with not firing? 3 way diverter, switches between Heating and hot water., On a combi, it would be within the unit, On others as the back boiler you have, It is usually near to the Pump unit, Or can't he find that either. If he cannot see it, Maybe he needs a picture. YOU will NOT need a new boiler, New Control, Maybe, More checks need to be done. If you google your model, as well as finding this post, you will find other information.
