2006 ford focus central locking problems?

i have a 2006 ford focus and the central locking won't work. i've tried new batteries, a new fob, had a new key cut, reprogrammed it but still it won't work. once locked i cannot gain access to the car as door lock is different to the key!! please help

yeah checked fuses and still no luck. seems to be a problem on old shape focus' but no mention of newer ones.
