to put it in a nutshell, alarm systems are like central heating, you only want to pay for it once,so you dont fit cheap trash

i knew alarm guy would clarify,we buy in new bell boxes and put then through a bench test, hot, cold, short circuit, voltage over load, under load,we freeze them, soak them, only if they pass our tests do we use them,it cost money, but, our test eliminates the dross,so in the long run,we save money,we bench test all our panels, pirs, door contacts, panic buttons, vibe detects, even our batteries, that is why we have few call outs to our systems, most are user faults,so,if you replace your sounder, buy a descent one,

as was mine :-)

The sounder GTS mentions does this in low temps.
My guess is a smoke alarm.

If it turns out to be the sounder just relace it.

just replace the bell box, simple fix,i have heard from acorn and alarm guy on this site about some bit of rubbish that goes faulty and you have to solder or cut some thing off, best to to replace it,if your certain it is the bell box,and not a smoke detector :-)

difficult to answer 100% but could be a faulty external sounder box
