My coal effect convector heater just flashes on for a second then cuts out?

My convector heater switches on but cuts out instantly. Is there any relatively easy repair or adjustment I can make to cure it? It is a Dimplex SBN 20R. Thanks

If i was doing it i would have to test to see where the loss of power was occurring. Are you sure you have changed the right switch? Apart from a loose connection there's nothing left to go wrong

changed the rocker switch and it's still doing it. Even when the switches for the two settings of the convector are in the off position, when the main switch is truned on, the lights flick on for half a second then go off. Any other ideas anyone please? Thanks.

yes Trish, it all goes off. Even when the heater is turned off, when the power is switched on the lights flick on and straight off again. It all goes dead. When the power is switched on again the same happens. Thanks.

you need to be more specific,do you mean it all goes off ? if it does its probably the main switch, which is not easy to get at but is replaceable by someone who is capable, ring Dimplex to find your nearest agent
