i have 2 xe-102 register that has all zero's on the display?

I have 2 ex-102 register that were put up for the winter. I removed the batteries. now when i go to init the register i get the 3 beeps then the printer cycles and then the register just beeps. if you turn it off and back to register i get all zero's on the display and the only key that works is the paper feed key. It cycles the printer and then the register just beeps.

Hi Don. Three beeps is what you should get, then the printer runs as you said. that is normal startup when batteries removed.
It sounds like you have printer failure. if it sounds like long beeps continuously then that is definitely printer related "Beeep...Beeep...beeep". Take the ink roller out and try again (roller can dry up and stall the printer). If it doesn't fix it, the printer may need a service. the rotary position sensor gives trouble that can cause this problem.
