How can I fix door closing fault: Hotpoint wd71?

The LCD display keeps asking for the door to be closed even though it is closed. What could cause this?

its a hotpiont and they are renowned for having sticky door locks once you"ve closed the door you have to give it a little nudge for the door lock to activate you could try replacing the door lock
