kitchenaid ice maker is leaking in the back ?

when water enters the ice maker, some water goes where is should but the rest leaks down the back into the ice catcher bin causing the few cubes it is making to melt together into one big gob of ice.

Is it a leak, or to high water pressure, so it splashes over and into the bin, try and reduce the flow, use the tap that supplies it.
