Warm air getting is back up into ice maker, causing water to drain down into trough, then running down front of freezer. Also causing frost to form on icemaker and inside of freezer.

Nice of you to tell us, What can we do, We cannot offer advice, without seeing it. So it does not close, You are better placed to see why it does not close.
IF we knew what make model etc, it might help, But again, you are in the best place to see why it does not close.
