I think I have the same issue. The drum tries to turn but and just makes a screeching noise. Whilst trying it, I managed to get it to turn one way with the wet cloths removed. It's as though something is slipping???

Sorry Phil, forgot to add, theres no motor brushes as such.Well not the usual carbon brushes.Power transference is from the stator plate.Have you checked the filter(at the left hand side behind the kick panel ).Also check the pressure pipe isn't blocked,it maybe thinking theres water present in the drum, hence no spin.If all ok,check the wiring, info below.

LE Locked motor error. Cause: The connector (3-pin), male, white) in the motor harness is not connected to the connector. (3-pin,female,white) of stator assembly. Or the electrical contact between the connectors. (3-pin,male,white) in the motor harness and 4-pin,female,white connector in the main PWB assembly is bad or unstable. Or the motor harness between the stator assembly and main PWB assembly is cut (open circuit) Or the hall sensor is out of order/defective.

Decoding the techno speak, this means that the little rev counter, built on to the back of the motor and connected by 3 wires has either come loose, fallen off, failed or its wires are unplugged. The result is the machine can't figure what speed the motor is running at, so it shuts it down.
