My washing machine is showing the error sign 'door' everytime I switch the washing mashing on. But if I hold the door shut then it works. Is this fixable or is it time for a new washing machine?

loosen the 2 screws on the latch and move latch towards door opening(only a few mm)tighen and check again.it that does not work try couple more moves.if you have to replace the switch its not diffucult and cheap,sometimes if your hands are small enough you can reach latch by just removing top of washer normally 2 or 3 screws at back and top slide off
