optima xm alarm?

How do i change my backup battery on a optima xm alarm system
EDWIN CRAVEN, January 2012
Firstly remove/isolate the power to the alarm panel

This is very important, and failure to do so may result in electricution or worse death.

Take the screw out from the right hand side front of main pannel.

Your battery is located at the bottom left hand side just behind the front pannel

. Take off the two leads red & black, remove the battery and replace.

put the two wires on the correct terminals on the battery. Red = live +. and Black on the negative = -.

Replace the cover and press reset.. job done.

The out side sounder will sound when you remove the battery.

Don't worry carry on with the procedure.

The panel will show all LEDs including tamper.

The reset will clear the system.

ensure you isolate the power to the panel first before you replace the battery.

In some cases the panel may revert to factory default,so have the user manual at hand.

If you don't feel confident in these aspects get someone in who does.
