How can I fix my Hotpoint Ultima 1200 washing machine?

My Hotpoint Ultima 1200 washing machine makes a hideous noise on the spin cycle. Every other part of the cycle appears to be fine but when it gets to the spin, it does spin but the noise is unbearable.
