Scantronic 9448 tamper light and pulsing alarm when I enter code?

I have a scantronic 9448 alarm about ten years old. When I enter my code to set my alarm it begins to sound a pulsing alarm and a red tamper light comes on. How do I resolve this?

Hi
Just moved house, was unsure of code on my scantronic 9448+ to cut a long story short we tried the code we thought and attempted to reset to a memorable number. The alarms went off and could not stop them. Had to disconnect the electricity to it, removed battery on the mother board (cannot get up to external box as it's too high). Alarms have gone off now... can we attempt to set it back up and reset the code again? Many thanks in advance.

........ "but it is more likely to be tamper return fault.

All monitoring devices have tamper hardware including the panel and outside sounder

Its possible for the outside sounders contacts, on the tamper return have corroded."

BUT having the tamper show/sound as you are entering your code points to the BATTERY.

Tamper faults indicate at the time of occurrence, not at some time in the future when a code is entered.

That's why they are called TAMPER circuits.

An alarm panel has no idea why or what has happened so it causes the tamper indication >at the time

SD spot on with tosh again, could you be more vague?
No Brain, oops name. Again your telling someone with obvious limited experience to do things that can be dangerous. Again no mention of mains voltages or isolation and checking it is safe to work on.
Then random guesses.

Think, 10 yrs old, never serviced in all likelyhood.
A indication that scream out battery change.

idiots springs to mind.

hi,Emma,.The pulsing tone sounds like the open zone tone.

A fault with one or more sensing devices or wiring issue connecting said devices.

Start by replacing the battery and check the bell return for a low res reading.

its possible the outside sounders battery needs replacing also.

the tamper LED in some circumstances can point to backup battery failure, but it is more likely to be tamper return fault.

I would think that you have a problem with the tamper cct, could be at a sensor, or wiring
