Ihave just bought a SMEG SUK81MFX5 off a friend who assures me that it is in full working order, however the grill only gets warm , it can still be touched after 30 mins , when the electrician connected the supply he stated that the diagram on the back was confusing , could he have made a mistake on the connections

Dont know this particular model but quite often smeg ovens can operate on several voltages and phase configurations and the input terminal block has to be linked to suit your supply. Connections should be printed or embossed on plate where cable enters. Look for links diagram for 1ph+N 240v. (Can be like link 1+2 =Neutral link 3+4+5=Live) Need an appliance electrician. If not linked some things wont work.
