My fridge freezer has a really unpleasant odour?

My hotpoint FF200e fridge freezer has a really unpleasant odour. The smell disappears when the unit is switched off.

Depends on where the smell is coming from. Sorry, but it has been known for mice to get into the units, And die due to the heat above the compressor. If from that area, well. But if only while running, probably from back, and possibly as above. Check in back.
