Why does my dishwasher not stop after normal run time?

My Bosch Diswasher Model No SGV43A03GB when put on a hot wash just kept running, so thought after three hours I should switch it off. What is the cause of this.

Blockage in clear hose that runs from pressure chamber in left side of machine to sump at front also could be pressure chamber full of gunk. (common occurance) This causes low water level and prevents heater coming on. Or faulty heater if not that. Cheers
