oil burning from honda gc 160 generator ?

hi there .i recently serviced my honda gc 160 generator. oil level is ok. but when starting up blue smoke comes out of exhaust for a short time then goes back to normal .generator otherwise working fine .it wasnt doing this until i serviced it . can you help

Following discussion with a mechanic on blue smoke coming from my old cars many moons ago the reply was.

Worn cylinders causing oil to enter the combustion chamber and burning with fuel. Serious wear if plug/s oil up, and or difficult to start. Test with plug type pressure tester.

Worn valves and or valve guides causing oil again to pass to combustion chamber.
