why does the grill keep tripping when turned on?

our cooker is a Kenwood CK 230 FS its nearly 3yrs old its starting to trip out when the grill knob is turned on, can we fix this problem ourselves or do we get a qualified person to fix it for us.

could just ned a new element but without test meter it is going to be hard to diagnose 100%
