i have a potteren lpg gas boiler & it will not ignite or fire up it is approx 20 years old. the reset button will not push in.

at 20 years old the boiler doesn't owe you anything. Maybe it is time to bite the bullet and get a new efficient condensing boiler.

You will need to give a lot more information. What model is the boiler? Is it one with a pilot light or electronic ignition? Is there a light or something to indicate that power is present?
