Heating controller Siemens RDJ10RF not working?

Wall unit has flashing red light, tried to sync the units with the usual reset, learn etc as described, but just keeps the amber light on on the wall unit and the red light at the top of it still flashes..... have tried the 'tapping' idea but that doesn't work either .....help

Tap the receiver unit when the sender unit is calling for heat. If the boiler then fires up it's probably a sticking relay inside the receiver unit.

or bypass siemens controller by linking CH LIVE/SWITCH LIVE on boiler PCB
