Hoover Optima OPH 716 DF 80 - Error code 08?

Can anyone help - I have an error code 08 on my optima 716df washing machine. The code refers to the Tacho coil (or sometimes the carbon brushes) Is this something I can fix or is it going to cost a lot of money for a call out??
