how do I fix this Ariston 1600wd washing machine motor problem?

Hi, I have an Ariston 1600wd washing machine. There seems to be a motor problem. Every time the motor should turn the drum moves very slightly then nothing. I have checked the drum and it runs freely. Is there an overload sensor that has gone wrong?
