Thanks, makes sense that pressure built up, but do I release it by plugging in and depress the button? or should I try to take apart? I think it sat for a long while too.

Internal pressure may be preventing the screw cap from turning - I get this with my Jet Washer. Once I release the pressure I can remove the hose.
