Went to turn the pressure up (done it many times before) but instead of the tap (can't think of a better word for it - not to be confused with basin tap) turning the black pressure gauge spindle towards the '1', it's turning it towards the '3' with no give in the other direction. Is there a way of resetting it, or any other advise is welcome ... thanks!

I'd be concerend you have asmall leak in your system, if you've had to repressurise the system many times.
