There is gas getting to the unit , just when you press the button for the spark it won't spark ???

Is there power getting to the cooker?

There is an ignition transformer - probably in the back of the cooker. Is there power getting to that when the button is pressed?

If power is getting to the transformer, the button is OK and the transformer (or wiring to it) is suspect.
