Hotpoint HCM15 integrated coffee maker - indicates "waste tray missing"?

Hi, I've just moved house and the kitchen has an integrated Hotpoint coffee machine (model indicated above). The message keeps saying "Ready, waste tray missing", but the waste tray is in place!
Does anyone have any advice or had a similar problem?

Yo could have a look and maybe work out how it detects the presence or otherwise of the waste tray. It maybe something as simple as a gummed up lever
