Makita Jig #4304T Blade installing Lever does not seem to work?

Makita Jig model 4304T: blade installing lever does not open blade clamp. Is there something wrong or broken with this top ?

Blade locking system becomes stiff and sticks in the partially open position without holding the blade. Try cleaning with spray cleaner of the WD type. See if a bit of force on the arm of the pivot shaft will help it free. Best of Luck
