I put a vhs tape in a JVC HR-J6002 UM and it plays and records but will not come out. Every time I try it sounds like it is in the process of ejecting but it does not and turns off. I have tried with the machine standing on each of every four sides and up side down, even gently shaking it.
The machine used to work without fault and I suspect it was probaly a defective tape since it was the first of a new box.

opne up the unit and observe. chances are there is a cassette label which has peeled off and is jamming. whatever you do don't force it if it won't go. could also be a slack loading belt. helping it with a finger may give enough torque to eject. then replace the belt to prevent recurrence.
