how to repair focus error for fuji s7000 digital camera?

how to remove and repair focus error message displayed in view finder for camera fuji s7000.

The S7000 manual says " turn the camera on again taking care not to touch the lens" if that doesn't sort it the next step is to return the camera to Fuji for repair.
I guess its not an easy or cheap fix.
