My son's PS2 disc door will not open? How do I fix it?
Will it need to be sent off or Will he need a new one?

If the warranty is valid I wouldn't mess about with it - just send it off. Otherwise, you could try doing what they suggest. Be very careful, though.

IF ITS THE BIG (BRICK) PLAYSTATION DOE THIS

ok you should be able to pull off the very front PANEL of it

(the rigid bit with the playstation logo / you might snap off some bits but it shouldnt matter cause you can just press the panel back on again)

if you can do that get something thin and narrow left the push the tray in then up and get a torch turn it on and look to the right under the tray you should see a small white cyclinder get your thin object and put it to to right of it and push the cyclinder all the way to the left make it goes all the way then turn on the playstation and press the eject button if its not that then i dont know what it is try opening it if its passed its warranty
