How can I repair the high hat?

The high hats are closed and will not open. They stay closed all the time, pedal or no pedal.

Sounds like your spring is broken. You should be able to unscrew the bottom near your pedal, where it goes into the stand, and check the spring there.

Try:
1) Checking the spindle is screwed into the foot system.
2) The clutch nut attached to the top hi hat is tightened o as to grip the spindle.
