Repair of Video?

Hi i have a VHS workout video (that is no longer made) my VHS player chewed it and i was wondering if there it is possible to cut out the chewed part out or just anyway of fixing it as it wont play??

I have used sellotape in the past to splice a damaged tape. Make sure there are no edges on the spiced section. Not perfect but it works.
