Dishwasher not draining?

My whirlpool modle series 941 is not draining completely, or at all. The drain hose is clear to the sink as I took it out and visually inspected and added pressure to make sure. The motor in the dishwasher is still working but no water is leaving the appliance. I have a thought that this could be a bad solenoid or water pump. Any ideas? Oh, and the sink and disposal are draining just fine. Thanks

APPARENTLY THIS CAUSED THE DRAIN SOLENOID TO 'BURN OUT'. I REPLACED IT ASSUMING IT HAD BEEN A LEMON, AND THE REPLACEMENT 'BURNED OUT' AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS. I THINK THIS IS A CASE WHERE THE 'PROBLEM' FOR WHICH THE CHECK VALVE WAS THE 'CURE', WAS LESS OF A PROBLEM THAN THE 'CURE' (THE CHECK VALVE). IN OTHER WORDS, THE CURE IS WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM.

I checked the "check valve" and this may be the problem. It was clogged with food and needed to be cleaned out. As this check vavle sits directly above the coil for the motor, be sure to use plenty of towls and let the unit air dry over night or until dry. When removing the check valve, there is a small rubber shut valve and small plastic clip, be careful to notice how they are removed. Hopefully this will save someone the cost of a service call and giving into buying a new unit. I hope this helps anyone with this problem.
