my optima xm alarm control panel shows both the Power and Zone 1 lights in Red. When I have tried to reset the system, nothing works. Normally when you press any button there is an audible sound. There is no audible sound from any buttons.

Any ideas??

sounds like the panel has locked up, common problem for this is dead battery in panel, try replacing battery (12 volt 2.1amp). down power panel completely, fit battery first, red lead to red terminal ect ect, then the mains this normally does the trick - good luck
