HOW CAN I FIX MY INDESIT 1263W WASHING MACHINE?

WHNE REPLACING DOOR SEAL ON LIP OF DRUM, SHOULD THE ADJUSTABLE WIRE RETAINING RING BY PLACED ON THE SEAL FIRST, OR FITTED WHEN THE SEAL IS IN PLACE ON THE DRUM. IS THE BEST ACCESS TO THE ADJUSTING BOLT THROUGH THE TOP OF THE MACHINE?

I put the retaining clip on after the seal is in place and tighten from the top of the machine
